We had planned a trip to Norway to meet some of the original pioneers of this breed from the early 1970's - my main aim on this visit was to research the breed for the book I am writing. We had the greatest pleasure meeting Else Nylund,  whom with her late husband,  Egil, were two of the best known pioneers of the Norwegian Forest cats, breeding under the cattery name of   Pan's. We  spent a lovely day with Else and Ina. We visited Else's home and some of her cats. We viewed much information and many wonderful things. We visited Else's summerhouse where so many of the Pan's ancestors spent much  of their lives and saw the tall  claw marks on the trees there :-) We had a really lovely time. In fact there was so much information,   we need to, and are  go back to view the rest at in August 2006.

Whilst at Ina's home, we saw  very beautiful forest cats and a huge young male named Gille who is the father of Magnhildr. I loved Pan's Toini who is a daughter of the infamous EP/EC  Pan's Polaris DM and her daughter is the mother of Magnhildr. Well,  after seeing such an array of excellence at Ina's cattery I could not possibly resist having a female from this combination. My real favourite cat is Champion (N) Selteteigen’s Karamell, and no matter how I try and ask Ina to "name her price" she says I will never have enough money in the world for her!! :-))

Magnhildr has a really good pedigree with many of the old bloodlines  We feel very honoured to have the opportunity to breed these lines in the UK. We will work closely with Ina regarding the quality of her progeny and her kittens will be carefully chosen  to  further the lines on and sold  only  to selective breeders who want to preserve the old bloodlines and can justify to us this is so!

Ina - we thank you so very much for allowing us to have Magnhildr and to carry through your excellent breeding into the UK. Your extensive knowledge of  the history, bloodlines, pedigree's , ancestors of this breed and much more humbles us greatly and what you do not know is not worth knowing! The promise made to  yourself and Else Nylund we will always strive to achieve!
